One of the most recent movies is ‘The Green Hornet’, which is a superhero comedy-action feature. The movie is based on the character having the same name which hits roots in a 1930s radio show and also made appearances in comics and also in few television series.
The Green Hornet movie is directed by Mr. Michel Gondry and the cast goes like this: Seth Rogen, Jay Chou, Christopher Waltz, Cameron Diaz, Tom Wilkenson and so on. The story revolves around the playboy son (Britt Reid) of a newspaper publisher who has lost his wife. The son who was always irresponsible undergoes a sudden transformation after his father dies due to an allergic reaction to bee sting. After the funeral, he gets drunk with his mechanic who also is a martial artist, and defiles the memorial statue of his father. They chance upon a couple getting mugged and they rescue them and then decide to become crime fighters. From there, Britt and the mechanic Kato decide to pose as criminals, infiltrate their gangs and bring them to justice. They go behind a mobster named Benjamin Chudnofsky by calling himself as green hornet and so on the drama unfolds.
This movie has got mixed reviews, majority of the reviews are negative. The movie managed to rake in 11,100,000 USD on the opening day. It managed to make a sum of 100,534,000 USD world wide.
The merchandising of the movie include manufacturing of 6 inch action figures and a die cast model of the car Black Beauty featured in the movie as collectibles. The studio has run a promotion along with Dr.Pepper beverage. Video game of Green Hornet has been released for IPhone, Ipad and android phones.
This movie is for the fans who like slap stick humor, they are going to like it. Otherwise it is a disappointing movie.
