The new trend on the televisions is the introduction of reality shows. You can see music shows or dance shows in which people are under extreme pressure to give their best performance. In fact, there are contestants who have gone into depression and sometimes even suicidal after attending reality shows. So naturally, the question enters your mind, whether it is good or bad for you.
First, try to analyze the good points. The reality shows are a great platform for people to be judged by some of the best people in the industry. You can get the advices and suggestions of people who have proved their talent in the field and are masters in them. This would be a great opportunity for you to display your skills and talents.
If you are a musician, you may get approached by a music company even if you have been eliminated, and similar things have happened in history. Also, you may get a mentor who is highly respected in the industry. These are the good points of getting selected in a reality show. Now try to analyze the bad side of the situation.
Being shouted at in front of the whole world is not exactly something everybody can stomach. It requires a lot of will power and guts to go in front of the camera showing you on the national channel and being harassed by the judges, or being scoffed at your talents. It may break the confidence of the person; he may even abandon the whole thing in life.
So good and bad are two parts of a coin as far as the reality shows are concerned. In this case you would have to choose yourself as to what you want to do. If you have the guts to be judged and laughed at, well and good, else it would be better to abandon the idea.
